Today is World Diamond Day. And I want to talk about something that does not get said enough.
Diamonds are not just for engagements. They are not just for waiting. They are not just for someone else to give you.
They are for you. Right now. On your terms.
I work with natural diamonds because I believe in them. Each one is formed over billions of years, completely unique, carrying its own fingerprint. Time, pressure, and the earth doing something extraordinary. For this piece, for this client, natural diamonds were the only choice.
And when a woman brings me her diamonds, something she already owns, and asks me to reimagine them? That is my favorite kind of work.
A client came to me with a pair of round brilliant diamond studs. GIA certified, 3 carats each, I color, SI2 clarity. Exceptional stones. She had worn them as earrings for years. Beautiful. Classic. Hers.
But she wanted something different. Something she could wear every day, in a new way, that still felt like her.
So we transformed them. One became a solitaire pendant on an 18K gold chain. Clean, elegant, something she will never take off. The other became a spiral ring, bold and sculptural, the kind of piece that stops people mid-sentence.
Same diamonds. Completely new life.
This is what I mean when I talk about jewelry as transformation. It is not about buying more. It is about honoring what you already have and making it yours in a deeper way.
On World Diamond Day, I am not going to tell you to buy a diamond. I am going to tell you to look at what you already own. Your mother's ring. Your grandmother's brooch. The studs sitting in a box because they feel too formal for everyday.
Bring them to me. Let's talk. Let's make something you actually wear.
Natural diamonds deserve to be lived in.
Ciao,
Paola
